Key Responsibilities
Duties: The Design to Value Methodologist at CNH Industrial America LLC in New Holland, PA will provide visibility to cost performance and risk by tracking, root cause identification, forecasting, and reporting cost changes across various manufacturing processes throughout the global organization. Facilitate and work with a cross-functional teams to support Design to Value initiatives by facilitating workshops and supporting and promoting the Design to Value methodology Proactively in the New Product Development (NPD) phase as well as Current Product Management/Enhancement phase. Facilitate and perform evaluations for cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives. Utilize knowledge of Casting, Sheet metal fabrication, Welded assemblies, Plastic parts, Forged, Powder metal to develop cost models and cost modeling methodologies. Facilitate and support on product development and supplier discussions for effective negotiation with technical cost estimation data. Lead the deployment of the cost modeling tools and update and maintain the digital factory database with regards to market trends, raw material rates, machine rates, and labor rates. Implement, customize, and maintain support for engineering cost tools and processes. Provide decision support for Product Development milestone financials. Develop and maintain cost roll-up forecast and align Bills of Material (BOM). Participate in cost improvement programs to support Design to Cost principles, methods, and processes. Provide training for the applicable engineering tools and processes. Generate periodic reports for sharing global cost avoidance and usage data with respective product leaders. Evaluate various tools used in engineering cost estimation and optimize the number of tools as well as usage. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Salary $105,750 – $155,100 p/yr.
Experience Required
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or related occupation. The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: 1) Engineering materials and manufacturing processes to drive and facilitate cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives; 2) Cost modeling methodology for commodities of vehicle components including castings, fabricated sheet metals, sheet metal weldments, machined parts, plastics, tubes, and hoses; 3) Maintaining parameters of cost-management tools including aPriori Costimator, or NLPP; 4) Performing cost reduction analytics and leading cost-reduction initiatives; and 5) Maintaining product cost management tools and processes through implementing continuous improvement.
