Manufacturing
This position shall be responsible for Heading Manufacturing Engineering at CNH Harvesters plant.
Responsible for Capital items planning, budgeting, development and implementation of tooling, processes, and facilities for production and finally handover for regular production.
Responsible for New products timely manufacturing launches for all the programs run by Product Development platform.
Responsible for managing new manufacturing footprint programs, managing stakeholders, sending weekly project reports to global/ regional manufacturing teams.
Owner of all in-house manufacturing processes, tooling’s, Layouts.
Key Skills required:
- Operations Cross-functional exposure – Candidate shall work to get understanding of overall scope of product to match the same in terms of Manufacturing Operation s resources, their competencies, infrastructure-facility capacity, and capabilities working closely with various functions like Engineering, Production, Quality, Sourcing/ Supply Chain, Purchasing
· Knowledge/ Exposure to medium to Heavy industry for Welding, Painting, Assembly, Hydraulic & Electrical systems.
· Collaboration and leadership competency. Knowledge of MS office.
· Leading the CBS & Lean initiatives in Plant. Knowledge on Harvesting application products and related technologies with focus on heavy fabrications and Chassis.
· Drive cost reduction initiatives through CNH Business system & CI activities.
· Welding process expert with focus on fixturing/ tooling development.
· Trained/ Certified Welding expert with PQR/ WPS knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer
CPM(Current product management) & CPI(Current product improvements)
Strive to reduce cost and increase productivity across all product lines.
Accountable to resolve process related CPM issues, daily quality issues, field issues etc.
NPL(New product launches) for approved programs as per Defined Milestones.
Designing of plant layout, tooling and process for assembly, paint and fabrication shop for the models produced in pune plant. Coordination for manufacturing new product launch for each milestone as per GPD2.0 deliverables.
Lead and own Make/Buy strategy and validate MBOM for all the models.
Supervising RFQ, detailed DR and DAP with supplier for tooling development.
Inspection and trial of tools at tooling supplier end.
Capital items planning, budgeting, selection, inspection and proving and finally submit commissioning report to finance.
2. Safety
Accountable for IFI ( Injury Frequency Index), FACFI ( First Aid Frequency Index)
WTIFI (Weighted Total Injury Frequency Index), Waste Recovered, Hazardous Waste KPI (kg/hours), Total Waste Generated KPI (kg/hours), Total Water Consumption KPI (m3/hours),
& Volatile organic compounds – VOC KPI (g/m2)
Plan safety reviews for all new project equipment, capital machinery and ensure safety during new process implementation
3. Quality
Quality – Current products Agriculture & Construction Equipment’s.
CPA, ADPU, OKOL, DAR ADPU & PDI ADPU
Release and control of all documents layouts, SOP’s, RFQ’s DR’s etc.
Welders and painters qualification, PQR and WPS
Painting product and process homologation, Creation of OP’s and resolution of PIR’s related to manufacturing.
4. Delivery
Lead & Deliver new manufacturing footprint programs, managing stakeholders, sending weekly project reports to global/ regional manufacturing teams.
Handling plant response team for managing weekly regional leadership escalations & closing daily escalations at plant level.
Lead CBS (CNH Business systems) initiatives plan and implementation
Adhere to production plan as per current level of PO.
Maintain & Reduce Manufacturing Index as Per Defined targets
Support supply chain to overcome the constraints for low volume
Skill development –Special processes fabrication & painting
D & I initiatives in line with business strategy.
All standard assembly tools, tackles selection, designing in case of tailor-made requirements and proving.
Establishment of Standard work and adherence for operations & testing of products
5. Profitability
Achieve Budget/forecast for Efficiency, Expenses control for Pune plant.
Savings as budgeted min 8%
Increase plant utilization through manufacturing footprint initiatives.
Responsible for Plant saturation & new equipment planning,
PLANT CAPEX & OPEX budgets spending control.
Cost reduction Initiatives & Project Management.
Ensure Weekly Kaizens as planned
Shop capacity evaluation and counter measures for immediate increase in production numbers.
Line balancing and takt time calculation and final implementation on-line for various capacity.
Provide technical support on tooling and process and problem solving to other functions and participation as CFT to resolve the critical issues.
Leadership/Team Management Responsibility:
· Lead Continuous Improvement efforts through Planning / Controlling / Monitoring / Improving performance on key metrics such as safety / quality / delivery / inventory / productivity
· Manpower development and engagement
· Team recognition and motivation
· People Management
· Ensure the cost competitiveness of the product
· Maintaining cordial Industrial relations in the Plant
· Interface with Human Resources on all policy and discipline issues
· Exposure required specifically in manufacturing operations field for medium & heavy Agriculture & construction equipment.
· Manufacturing processes and required tooling to launch a product and plant facilities. Planning, budgeting, and project management.
· Utilize lean six sigma tools and principles to develop, plan and implement layout, process flow, material handling and cost and quality improvements.
· Budgeting and control for capex and opex for plant project and product, systematically prepared the detailed budget and review and update in each FCST’s.
· Able to Coordinate with central manufacturing engineering for project study support and other CNH plan connect to have the information to implement the proved technology & process.
